All Wheelers Off Road Club -
Trail repair run

All Wheelers Off Road Club
November 4th, 2007

Two weeks ago we saw a big tree had fallen and was blocking trail 4W613 but did not have a big enough chain saw to cut though it. So yesterday we made a special trip up with bigger saws to cut the down tree and save meadows that were being used for by-passes. Lucky we did. There were by-passes all over. Lucky they were mostly on top of the snow so there was minimal damage. In the spring the by-passes would have been bad with the snow melting and the ground being soft. We blocked the by-passes so everything should be ok. Here is the run report:

On Sunday November 4th, 2007 our mission was to go to the top of 4W613 to cut a tree that fell across the trail near the meadows. We headed up with two rigs.

We stopped to air down on the Doe Pocket Trail.

Scott and Test Dummy ran the saws as HelpperBoy and I cleared the trail.

The Tweety Jeep helped with the big stuff.

We also moved some logs to block the other part of the main by-pass across the meadow. People would not have know to turn if we didn't because you can not see what way the trail goes with snow on the ground.

At Jackass road we decided since it was a nice day to run out though Blue Lake.

We stopped at the cabin on the way down.

Passing by Blue Lake we saw a guy fishing.

On the way out the Blue Lake trail Scott ran into the same stumps a lot of us have hit since the loggers cut the trees down last year. The stumps are the ones at the top of the first steep hill climb you can not see as you go over. Scott's rig took on a little damage as many other have from them this year. We said that was enough and cut the two stumps lower.

As they cut on the stumps helperBoy and I clear some of the broken junk off the trail.

The stumps are still sticking up but not near as high. We packed up and headed home. We did a quick stop at Tampico to air up.

Thanks for the help guys!
