Sedge Ridge

Sedge Ridge Trail info:

The South Fork Ahtanum Creek Road (A-1000) runs along the bottom until it climbs up to the Upper Sedge Ridge Crest Trail (A-1400). The Yakama Indian Reservation boarders on the south side of The South Fork Ahtanum Creek. Street legal ORVs only on the pavement. The part of the road that is not paved is open to 4x4s, quads and dirt bikes.

The paved part of The North Fork Ahtanum Creek Road runs along the bottom of North side until the Pavement ends. At this point The Middle Fork Ahtanum Creek Road continues up Whites Ridge but is the nearest road to follow the north side of Sedge Ridge. Street legal ORVs only on the pavement. The Middle Fork Ahtanum Creek Road is open to 4x4s, quads and dirt bikes.

Red Saddle Road (A-2400) starts off of the Mid Fork Ahtanum Creek Road by the Ahtanum Sno-park and runs across the top of Sedge Ridge to the South Fork Ahtanum Creek Road (A-1000). At the very top of Sedge Ridge where Red Saddle Road (A-2400) crosses is called Red Saddle. This is where the trail heads are for the upper and lower Sedge Ridge Crest trails.

Sedge Ridge A-2420 trail starts at Red Saddle Road (A-2400) and meets up with The Lower Sedge Ridge Crest Trail (A-1490). This trail is open to 4x4s, quads and dirt bikes.

The Upper Sedge Ridge Crest Trail (A-1400) runs from Red Saddle up along the rim of Cultus Hole. The trail has a few hill climbs. The worst and best is the Rocky Climb just above Red Saddle. On up the trail the South Fork Ahtanum Creek Road merges into the trail. After that point there are two more hill climbs that are bad if wet. At the end of the last hill climb you start running the rim of Cultus Hole. At the cross there is a great view point where you can look down into Cultus Hole, see The Goat Rocks and other mountains. This trail is open to 4x4s, quads and dirt bikes.

The Lower Sedge Ridge Crest Trail (A-1490) runs from Red Saddle down close to where the trees stop and the rolling hills start. At one time there was a Fire Lookout Tower along this trail. The views of the Lower Yakima Valley are great. This trail is open to 4x4s, quads and dirt bikes.

The Bolder Trail runs from The Lower Sedge Ridge Crest Trail (A-1490) down to The South Fork Ahtanum Creek Road (A-1000). This trail work great along with A-2420 to cross Sedge Ridge. The trail has some views of Tampico and the Lower Yakima Valley. This trail is open to 4x4s, quads and dirt bikes.
